This is slightly off-piste , but I've recently reignited my sci-fi reading , and decided to list out my favourite sci-fi novels . No particular order - I'll add more. Feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments
Echopraxia - Peter Watts - This is mind-blowing , I grasped some of the major themes - but it is hard science-fiction , grounded in current cutting-edge research transposed into the future. Moving from conscious intelligence towards intuitive intelligence. Singularity
Blindsight - Peter Watts
Yukikaze - Chohei Kambayashi
Left hand - Ursula Le Guin
The Dispossessed - Ursula Le Guin
The Futurological Congress - Stanislaw Lem
The left hand of darkness - Ursula Le Guin
Ancillary Justice - Ann Leckie
Wittgenstein's mistress - Markson
Never let me go - Ishiguro
Sirius - Olaf Stapledon
Kefahuchi Series - M.John Harrsion
Lady of Mazes - Karl Schroeder
Embassytown - China Mieville
A case of Conscience - james Blish
Roderick - John Sladek
Just city - Jo Walton
Hardboiled wonderland/edge of the world - Ishiguro
The Hyperion cantos - Dan Simmons
The thing itself - Adam Roberts
Schild's Ladder - Greg Egan
Incandensence - Greg Egan
Permutation city - Greg Egan
Anathem - Neal Stepheson
The Baroque Cycle - Neal Stephenson (Quicksilver, The Confusion, The system of the Word ) - I know there is a debate about sci-fi categorization for this series. There are tropes where time-travelers travel through history (alternate history) on the other hand a strict definition of sci-fi may not include this one. Either way it's brilliant.
Player of Games - Banks
The three body problem - Liu Cixin
Dune - Frank Herbert
Earth - David Brin
Way Station - Clifford Simak
Cat's cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
