30 November,2022 by Rambler

These are notes from AWS re:Invent 2022. They are in no particular order but are points I noted as I talked\listened to various Engineers and Architects

  • Finops from the start of any planning
  • Major theme: Security from the start . Review the AWS security reference architecture and the AWS IAM access Analyzer
  • DynamoDB - Model for access patterns , understand your access patterns and model for them
  • Database Migration Service (DMS)
  • DMS - Unit testing should be set up
  •  Major theme: Just migrating Dbs into AWS is not the most effective model , profile usage and then plan accordingly
  •  DMS patterns:
  •                           Dealing with migrating large data sets
  •                           Migrating Multi tenant setup
  •                          Migrating third party setup , consider Custom RDS
  •                          Design for operational excellence
  •                          Design for resilience
  • AWS DMS Schema Conversion as a schema   - AWS DMS Schema Conversion announcement
